From our team to yours, Yakkazoo wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and wonderful New Year. This year has been outstanding for our growth, both professionally and personally. We’ve been a part of some stellar projects alongside brilliant clients and suppliers who have made this all possible.
Upon reflection there were so many vignettes within our portfolio this year that demonstrated the Yakkazoo point of difference. Retrospectively so many ‘firsts’ such as LinkedIn’s Talent Intelligence Summit Experience, more specifically the bespoke creation of Musica Analytica and bringing Ekenah Claudin to perform in Australia for the first time; our collaboration with the Sydney Opera House, Rhoda Roberts and six First Nations artists to create Badu Gili 2018 – to name but a few. This calibre of work is testament to our team and our CoLAB partners, who are best in class.
Lisa Taylor, Executive Creative Director
Witnessing the creation of Badu Gili from start to finish has been one of the most outstanding highlights of my year. Collaborating with Rhoda Roberts has been so memorable, and one of the moments I will never forget was seeing First Nations artist Mabel Juli watch her own artwork come to life on the Sydney Opera House- it was extremely special to be part of. Having seen Badu Gili now 19 times, I’m still in awe of the project and am so pleased to see the hundreds of people who turn out each evening to view the work.
Mark Barrett, Founder and Director of Art & Cultural Enterprise
We’ve made some pretty great social impact amongst our community too, and are proud to recognise our personal achievements. Mark Barrett loaning his personal artwork by Mavis Ngallametta to the Australia Council for the Arts was a special moment for us all to be part of, as well as supporting community events like the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation charity auction, partnering with Live Works 2018 to support their project Return to Escape From Woomera, and also aiding our adopted elephants Thong Ma and Poom Puang. As a team who believe in creativity and backing awesome work, we are so excited with the projects we collaborated and created in 2018 and cannot wait for the New Year ahead.
The Yakkazoo team will be taking a well-deserved Christmas break from 18 December to 8 January 2018. We’ll return in the New Year with a fresh approach to our EPIC work and new inspiration to create, challenge and inspire in 2019. We can’t wait to share what is in store for 2019 with work commencing on some bigger ‘firsts’ within Cultural Place strategy and programming, Brand and Experience Design.
We wish you all a very safe, happy and amazing festive season. From the Yakkazoo family.
