For anyone who knows me, you will know my passion for arts and culture. I believe the need to support this incredibly important industry and indeed our heritage is paramount. Not only for those who are avid art lovers, but for individuals, businesses and corporations across the country, the responsibility lies with us all to help promote, support and grow this industry paving the way for new talent that will one day shape our history. Particularly now, coming through what was hopefully the worst of the pandemic and seeing how much it affected the arts community we wanted to be able to support the industry in a real and tangible way.

I am therefore extremely proud to have been able to bring to life our VMG Art Series in our brand-new HQ in Melbourne.

Kate Briscoe “Geologica”

For our first exhibition we proudly present Kate Briscoe with her “Geologica” series, which is showing until Easter. Inspired by the landscape of the Kimberley in Western Australia the series is an incredible expression of a long and amazing geological history, with an abundance of visual information in terms of colour, structure and texture that the river gorges and coastal cliffs of the Kimberley demonstrate. Briscoe’s work is held in major public collections across Australia including Artbank, Newcastle Regional Art Gallery, NSW Government House, and Parliament House Canberra. With the help of our exhibition Kate has not only sold an incredible piece but has secured a gallery in Melbourne for her show in August this year.

 So what’s it all about?

A series of rotating art exhibitions in a purpose-designed space within our brand-new Melbourne HQ. In conjunction with Catherine Asquith Art Advisory, we will evolve our curated program throughout the year, providing new initiatives to support a diverse collection of artists, whilst at the same time enabling the environment to continuously evolve and for our VMG team to always be inspired.

The Integration of our gallery has been carefully considered as part of the workplace design and provides a unique viewing platform for emerging and established artists who may not have Melbourne representation.

What’s next?

We here at VMG and Yakkazoo are all incredibly excited to see the roll out of some amazing talents over the coming year in our exhibition space and look forward to welcoming you all there, by appointment. Watch this space for more to come across Yakkaview and the VMG LinkedIn page as the story unfolds.
